Born on 10 March 1988 in Lukovit. Svilena graduated from The Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with a Bachelor’s Degree in “Past and Present of Southeast Europe” and  obtained Masters’ Degree in “National Security and Defense” from Rakovski National Defence College.

Completed “The Academy for social politics” initiative, conducted by The Institute for Social Integration in 2006.

Svilena is the publisher of newspaper “Lukovitski novini”.For more than 10 years, she worked as a reporter, editor and editor-in-chief in newspaper “Stroitel”, a publication of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber.

She has been a business analyst in a telecommunications company for five years.
