Election monitoring
The sixth session of the Civil Board for Free and Fair Elections is over
The Ministry of Interior summarized the trends in violating citizens’ electoral rights, the most common till that moment being the attempts for a corporative vote. The main groups of individuals, persuadable to that type of conviction are employees of companies for cleaning. MI also stated that compared to the previous campaign, this one was extremely calm, and there were no indications for the preparation of a large-scale shadow operation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they had established a total of 428 polling sections in 50 countries and that the Ministry would send a representative in each of them. The employees are part of the state administration and they have declared their political impartiality.
CEC stated that SEC members abroad had been trained and most of them had previous experience. In response to citizens’ concerns that in some sections there would be huge, practically impossible number of voters again, CEC explained that there was a section for every 500 voters, based on the previous elections. These elections however, could raise higher interest, which cannot be foreseen.
