Election monitoring
Press-conference on the project “Early Parliamentary Elections 2014. Civil Monitoring”
On September 25th 2014 in BTA Press-club a press-conference was held, where the team of ISI presented the project “Early Parliamentary Elections. Civil Monitoring” and the main activities for the campaign period.
Within the upcoming early parliamentary elections, ISI trains teams of civil observers to monitor violations, both during the campaign and on the Election Day itself. They will act in 25 of the 31 districts throughout the country.
A new element in the monitoring of the campaign is the idea, developed by ISI, for an interactive internet platform for analysis of the campaign messages of the main political parties. It shows graphically the main key words in the statements of candidates and allows for both quantitative and qualitative comparison of the positions of the parties on any important topic. With this endevour ISI aims at helping voters to make a choice. Next, it allows for comparison and analysis of the statements of the main politicians and candidates’ messages and highlights previously declared points in their platforms and programmes. Finally, it is possible, after the elections, to compare pre-stated intentions with the actions of the new leaders
