Youth Law: Where is the youth?

The discussion is organized by the Bulgarian office of Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Institute for Social Integration and the BSP Youth Union. The programme includes introductory interventions by the Members of Parliament Dragomir Stoinev and Ognyan Stoichkov, the Chairman of the National Youth Forum Vesselin Iliev, the sociologist Yurii Aslanov, the representatives of the BSP Youth Union Yavor Gechev and Mihail Balabanov. Moderator of the event will be Trendafil Velichkov - Deputy Chairman of the BSP Youth Union and Member of the Executive Board of the National Youth Forum.

The discussion marks the beginning of the joint initiatives between the German foundation and ISI for 2012. Planned is also a conference “Green Growth and Sustainable Development” as well as trainings for young politicians, young municipal councilors and mayors of the left, social forums aiming at supporting the left policies.

The main topics of the discussion will be:

Youth unemployment – a big concern in Bulgaria and in Europe

Young people in Bulgaria – where are they in the law and in the policies

The problems of the youth in Bulgaria through the eyes of the sociologists

Youth – representation and politics

Youth Law as an instrument for policies

Youth Policies – time for decisions

The participants include youth non-governmental, student and political organizations, Members of Parliament from all parliamentary groups, media representatives.
