ISI is again a member of the Consultative Council to the Commission for European Affairs at the National Assembly

The Institute for Social Integration, represented by Katia Koleva, Chairman of the Board, continues its membership in the Consultative Council to the Commission on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds (CEAOEF) at the National Assembly.

The Council, which has a history in the mandate of the 40th National Assembly since 2008, is a form of partnership between the legislature and civil society structures, trade unions, employers and academia. It consists of 25 members and consults CEAOEF in carrying out its functions in relation to parliamentary monitoring and control, both on the issues of EU affairs and the management of programs co-funded by the European Union and the countries of the European Economic Area.

At its first meeting, the Council identified the main priorities that it would cover. The preparations for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council and the possible change of the period with an earlier one were defined as leading ones. It is expected that by the end of July the Slovak presidency will submit a proposal to amend the order in which the rotating presidencies of the Council of EU by 2020 will be carried out. The change is necessary after the outcome of the referendum in the UK to leave EU.
