The European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP), in cooperation with the Liberal Politological Institute (LPI) and the Institute for Social Integration (ISI) organized a public conference on "Migration in the Bulgarian Context - Local, National and European Debate" on November 6, 2014 in Sofia.

The forum focused on the increasing immigration and refugee flows to Europe, seen from the perspective of three of the most affected Member States of the European Union - Bulgaria, Greece and Malta. By holding this event, ENoP gave a common platform to decision-makers, experts and civil society representatives to discuss various aspects of the topic and improve the efficiency of collaborative partnerships at local, national and European level.

Ognian Zlatev, Director of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, together with Katya Koleva, Chairman of the Board of ISI and Nikolay Paunov, Chairman of the Board of LPI opened the conference.

The issue of migration is extremely important not only in the context of the Bulgarian debate. That is why the conference’s theme addresses this issue at local level - where refugee camps are, at national level - because it concerns the whole country, and at European level - because we are not alone with this problem, as it became clear from the words of Koleva.
