ISI: Member of the Civil Board for Free and Transparent Elections

After registering as an observer of the Parliamentary Elections 2013, ISI became a member of the Civil Board for Free and Transparent Elections. The Institute is represented by Galina Assenova, Executive Director. It participated in the fourth meeting of the Board.

The Civil Board for Free and Transparent Elections is an independent expert-and-advisory Body, assisting the electoral process in the Parliamentary Elections on May 12th 2013. The main principles of the Civil Board are transparency and openness of the process, as well as equality among all member organizations of the Board. It includes representatives of organizations, registered by CEC as observers of the elections on  October 23th, 2011, as well as of those, registered in the elections on May 12th 2013. The Board also attracts experts, who have proven their competence in terms of electoral law and electoral process.

The Civil Board discusses, in partnership with public institutions responsible for the elections, issues, problems and solutions related to the organizing and carrying out of the Parliamentary Elections on May 12th 2013. The participation of the public bodies in the meetings is covered by the Council of Ministers.
