On 19 December 2011 (Monday) at 10,00 in Sredets hall of Sheraton hotel will be held a conference on “Elections 2011 in Bulgaria – the defects of democracy”.

The conference is organized by the Institute for Social Integration and the Institute for Modern Policy supported by civil society organizations that participated in the monitoring of the election process.

The forum is organized as a result of the numerous signals and assumptions for falsification of the election process during the last local and presidential elections. The aim is to make an analysis of the problem areas of the Election Code and of the violations that occurred as well as to draw out the basic international standards for free and fair elections.

The conference will be attended by representatives of civil organizations, university professors, students, politicians, Members of the European Parliament, Members of the Parliament, municipal councilors and mayors, diplomats.
