NewsRound table “Building learning societies”
The round table “Building learning societies” took place on April 22th 2014 in Venus Conference Centre in Sofia. It is part of the project „Building learning societies: promoting the validation of non-formal and informal learning“, with the participation of partner organizations from 9 European countries. Its coordinator is the professional network for trainings and qualifications “Solidar”, with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The aim of the project is to study and analyze the processes, connected to the validation of the non-formal and informal learning, as well as the national polices of the countries of the participating organizations. In this regard, the forum set up as its objective strengthening the process of dialogue and supporting the creation of a coalition of interested bodies – government institutions, employers, syndicates and NGOs, which would contribute to the idea, share their experience and reach a common vision for the future development of the validation process. Among the participants of the round table were: Valentina Deykova /Life Long Learning Department, Ministry of Education and Science/, Mihail Balabanov /Executive Director of the National Centre “European Youth Programmes and Initiatives”/, Eng. Krassimira Hristova-Brozig /Secretary General of the National Agency for Vocational Training/, who presented the main accents of the polices of their institutions. Moderator of the forum was Reneta Veneva, president of the National Alliance for Volunteer Action (NAVA). The event was attended by 21 NGO organizations, employers’ organizations and syndicates. The project’s experts Stefan Georgiev /sociologist and a leading coach and trainer in ISI/ and Lilia Elenkova /president of the National Youth Forum/ will prepare in resume the discussion’s recommendations for the process of validation of non-formal and informal learning, which will be directed towards the responsible institutions.
