On 5 and 6 April 2014, at NRA Training Center, Bankia, the first training of civilian observers in "Monitoring European Elections 2014" was held. They would coordinate the monitoring of the electoral process and the Election Day of their teams in Western Bulgaria – the regions Sofia-city, Sofia region, Pernik, Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil, Montana, Vidin and Vratsa. Two representatives of Haskovo region also took part in the training.

The program included topics as "Electoral legislation", "Civil monitoring" and "Organization of the Election Day." The participants in the training experienced a brief simulation of the Election Day, where they discussed the most common violations of previous elections.
