The Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISI Katya Koleva was a Delegate at the Congress of the Party of European Socialists
On 29 September in Brussels was held the ninth congress of the Party of European Socialists (PES), where the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party / BSP/ Sergey Stanishev was elected President. 350 delegates took part in the ballot - representatives of Left parties in the EU as well as related organizations - one of them the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS). At the PES congress it was represented by three delegates - Massimo D'Alema (former Prime Minister of Italy), Ernst Shteter (Secretary General of FEPS) and Katya Koleva (Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISI and member of FEPS’s management). All three FEPS delegates voted FOR, choosing Mr. Stanishev as a leader of the European Left. Mr. Stanishev himself is one of the founders of ISI, member of its General Assembly, and Vice President of FEPS.
Except for in Congress itself, Katya Koleva participated in other related events and forums – the Conference of PES Women, the Meeting of PES Activists, the Roundtables of the Parliamentary Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
The participation of the Chairman of our Board of Directors in the Congress is a great recognition for our Institute. We wish Sergey success and courage along his path as a leader of the European Left!
